PrakWayYour Way to Success.93 in 100 job seekers have met a fake job offer, and half say they cannot tell a real recruiter from a scammer. Here is what to look for, what this app checks for you, and what to do if it has already happened.
No legitimate employer anywhere asks a candidate to pay for a job.
No legitimate employer anywhere asks a candidate to pay for a job. Not a registration fee, not a training fee, not a refundable deposit, not a charge for a laptop or a kit. If money is asked for at any point, it is a scam, however convincing everything else has been.
The second rule: nobody legitimate ever needs an OTP from you. Not to verify you, not to release your offer letter, not ever.
Registration, processing, training, security deposit, refundable deposit, a fee for the kit or the uniform, a charge to 'block your seat'. All of it is the same scam.
Before any interview, before you have spoken to anyone. It is done so there is no record and nobody to report to.
A large company writes from its own domain. An 'HR manager' at a well-known firm using Gmail, Yahoo or Rediffmail is not at that firm.
Compare it against the salary pages here, which are built from real reported packages. A number far above the top of the real range is bait.
Limited seats, offer expires today, pay within the hour. Urgency exists to stop you checking. Nothing genuine is lost by taking a day.
A real employer asks for bank details after you accept an offer, through HR. Nobody legitimate asks you to hand over original certificates to hold.
Check the company page here, and check the careers page on the company's own website. Real employers list their openings there.
Four levels, and each one says what evidence earned it: nothing checked, an email address on the company's own domain, a GSTIN or CIN checked by a person here, and — the one that cannot be faked with paperwork — somebody actually hired through PrakWay who confirmed it themselves.
Demands for money, being pushed off the platform, free-mail contacts for companies that own a domain, pay far above the real market, urgency language, and impersonation of well-known employers. The worst are hidden; the rest carry a warning that shows you the exact words that caused it.
A score with no explanation teaches you nothing and cannot be argued with when it is wrong. So every flag shows the sentence from the posting that set it off, and every flagged employer can appeal to a person.
From any posting or any conversation. It goes to the same queue moderators already work, and you get confirmation immediately.
This is common, it is not your fault, and there are things worth doing today. Speed matters most for the first one.
Ask them to freeze the transaction and the receiving account. Within the RBI's rules, money reported quickly can sometimes be held before it moves on. Do this before anything else.
File at cybercrime.gov.in, or call 1930. 1930 is the financial fraud helpline and it is staffed around the clock — call it the same day if money has gone.
Screenshot the chat, the posting, the payment confirmation, the UPI ID or account number, and the phone numbers used. Scammers delete accounts quickly. You will need this for both reports.
It will not get your money back, but it takes the posting down and stops the same person reaching the next candidate.
A wrong flag is real harm — a legitimate small employer that gets hidden loses every candidate for as long as it stands. Every automatic flag can be appealed, a person reads the appeal, and an overturned flag stays overturned when the posting is scored again.
